 BY-LAW 10. RECRUITMENT (cont.)

1. For a first offense, the member school will be fined not more than

$300, and be placed on probation in that sport for a year.

2. For a second offense, the member school will be fined no more than $500, and be suspended from that sport for a year.


D. Any coach or member of the athletic department of any member institution, who engages in professional recruitment and/or proselytizing, as defined herein, will incur sanctions, to be determined by the Council upon recommendation by the President and Executive and Evaluation Committee.

1. For a first offense, the coach or member of the athletic department will receive a letter of reprimand.

2. For a second offense, the coach or member of the athletic department will receive a letter suspending him from Alliance participation for one year.


E. Any administrative head or designated administrator of any member institution, who engages in professional recruitment and/or proselytizing, as defined herein, will incur sanctions to be determined by the Council upon recommendation by the President and the Executive and Evaluation Committee.

BY-LAW 11. RULES OF ELIGIBILITY

A. A participant must be fully enrolled in the school which he is representing, and he must meet the academic requirements of that school for athletic participation in the Alliance.


B. A student will be ineligible for competition after the completion of six (6) semesters beyond the ninth grade (for the purpose of this bylaw, completion means attendance during).


C. A student may not participate in any athletic event if he/she has reached his/her nineteenth (19th) birthday prior to the first (1st) of September.


D. To be eligible for junior varsity competition, a student may not have reached his sixteenth (16th) birthday prior to the first (1st) of September, nor have begun his senior year.


E. Although students eligible to participate in lower level competition may participate in higher-level competition, once they have appeared on a higher-level roster, they are no longer eligible for lower level competition in that sport. No additions to the roster will be allowed for post-season tournament participation.

A student may move up to a higher level of competition at any time during the regular season, but not during post-season play, provided his name is
