BY-LAW 23. REGULATIONS FOR SWIMMING (Cont.)

K. To qualify for participation in the Alliance championship meet, a contestant must have competed in a preliminary meet. Competition in a preliminary meet is understood as swimming a registered and official time.


L. Officials' fees and operational costs will be divided among participating schools.


BY-LAW 24. REGULATIONS FOR VOLLEYBALL
A. International Volleyball Rules will be used.


B. A minimum of two (2) officials (referee and umpire) will be required for competition and paid by the home school.


C. An adult scorer will keep score on a standard Alliance score sheet.


D. A running score will be kept in a place visible to the players and

public.


E. A measuring stick will be available to check the height of the net: seven feet, ten inches (7' 10") for boys' varsity; seven feet, six inches (7' 6") for boys', junior varsity; seven feet two inches (7' 2") for boys' (ie.)Junior high; seven feet four inches (7'4") for girls' varsity; seven feet, two inches (7'2") for girls' junior varsity, seven feet (7'0") for girls' junior high.


F. If any set of the "two out of three" match is not completed before suspension to another date is declared, that set will be replayed and the match continued.


G. In case of an outdoor court and when physically possible, either a suitable barrier will be erected around the court at a minimum distance of three (3) yards from the sidelines and the end-lines, or bleachers will be provided for the spectators.


H. Unless mutually agreed to the contrary, the junior varsity games will be played before the varsity games.


I. A championship tournament will take place at the conclusion of regular season play.


J. An all-star game will be scheduled to take place yearly.


BY-LAW 25. REGULATIONS FOR CROSS-COUNTRY
A. Meets will be conducted on the varsity and junior varsity and junior

high levels.


B. In dual meets, each participating school must enter seven (7) contestants. In group meets, a team will be considered as 5 to 7 runners. Schools may field less than a full team but not more.


C. Total team points in each division will be the sum of the places scored by the first five (5) finalists of that team. Scoring shall be by simplified method (i.e. runners receive points in number equal to the place of finish). All runners, whether on a full team or not, count in the scoring. Low score wins. In case of ties, the fifth place runner determines the winner.
